Contact us for Dental Crowns
A dental crown is a custom-fitted cap that restores a damaged, cracked, or heavily decayed tooth to its full shape, size, and function. At Comprehensive Dental in Lincoln Park, NJ, Dr. Rana fabricates crowns using our in-house lab for a faster, more precise result — often same-day or next-day — while achieving a natural appearance that blends seamlessly with your surrounding teeth.

When Is a Crown Needed?
Dental crowns are recommended in a variety of situations:
A tooth with a large filling where there isn’t enough natural tooth structure remaining
A cracked or fractured tooth that needs protection from further damage
After root canal therapy, to protect and strengthen the treated tooth
A severely decayed tooth where a filling is no longer sufficient
To restore a dental implant with a natural-looking crown
For cosmetic purposes, to improve the shape or appearance of a malformed tooth
Types of Crowns We Offer
Porcelain Crowns are the most natural-looking option, matching the translucency and shade of your real teeth perfectly. They are ideal for front teeth and highly visible areas.
Zirconia Crowns offer exceptional strength combined with excellent aesthetics, making them suitable for both front and back teeth. They are the most commonly recommended crown type at our practice.
Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal (PFM) Crowns combine the strength of a metal substructure with a porcelain exterior. These are a durable option for patients with heavy biting forces.
The Crown Process at Comprehensive Dental
Typically completed in two appointments, the crown process begins with tooth preparation — Dr. Rana reshapes the tooth to accommodate the crown, takes impressions or digital scans, and places a temporary crown. Our in-house lab then fabricates your permanent crown to precise specifications. At your second appointment, the crown is bonded into place and adjusted for a perfect fit and bite.
Thanks to our in-house lab, turnaround times are significantly shorter than practices that send work to external labs.
How Long Do Crowns Last?
With proper care, dental crowns typically last 10–15 years or longer. Brushing, flossing, and regular checkups are the keys to crown longevity. Avoiding chewing on hard objects and wearing a night guard if you grind your teeth will also extend the life of your restoration.
