There are many reasons patients need dental filings including trauma, tooth decay, and infection. The goal when placing a tooth-colored filling is to improve the appearance and function of the patient’s tooth. At Comprehensive Dental, Dr. Samir Rana and the rest of our doctors and staff members rely on lifelike composite resin to treat teeth effectively at an affordable price. This material bonds directly to your tooth enamel creating a beautiful, natural result. We have our practice location in Lincoln Park, NJ so patients and their families never have to travel far to reach us. Contact us today to schedule your first appointment!

Why do I need tooth-colored fillings?

Tooth-colored fillings are a great way to fix minimal oral fractures, decay, and other relatively minor oral damage. They also solve the problem of overly sensitive teeth and improve chewing and biting. If you’re in need of a filling, don’t hesitate to contact us.

What types of fillings are available?

There are several types of filling materials including composite resin, porcelain, and silver amalgam. At Comprehensive Dental, we use composite resin to give back your beautiful smile. These resin fillings are made of glass and quartz substances that create a natural tooth feeling. Composite resin fillings do not contain any metal; therefore, your smile can look as natural as it once was!

The Tooth-Colored Filling Process

At Comprehensive Dental, our team strives to give patients the most comfortable and pleasurable experience possible. Having a tooth-colored filling placed will typically take only one visit. Dr. Rana or one of his associates will start by preparing the oral cavity and the tooth. We’ll remove any bacteria or debris with a dental hand-piece prior to the restoration. After successfully isolating the tooth, the bonding is then performed. The composite material is applied, contoured for a natural appearance, and hardened in place with a special light. The final outcome will be a beautiful and functional tooth!

After the treatment is complete, our dentists will educate you on maintaining the natural-looking and functioning filling. There will be some maintenance required after the procedure is complete including making sure to brush and floss properly twice a day. It will be important to pay attention to what you eat after the operation as well since sugary drinks and foods negatively impact the success of the filling.

How much do tooth-colored fillings cost?

The cost of tooth-colored fillings will depend on several variables; however, Comprehensive Dental believes in patient-oriented care. We have different ways to finance procedures, and we’d be happy to review them with you over the phone or during a visit.
